History:
Mark Smith founded Pario Research in 1995, the first urban
economics firm fully committed to integrating sustainability
into mainstream real estate investment. Mark Smith has a 24
year background in research and consulting, starting with the
Goodkin Group (Sanford R. Goodkin Research Corporation) and
for ten years with KPMG’s National Real Estate Consulting
Practice once they acquired the Goodkin Group. Pario has worked
on seminal projects incorporating sustainable design, New Urbanism,
Smart Growth, eco industrial development, and culture. Mark
Smith has been instrumental in helping to understand feasibility,
design opportunities, and process change relative to these ‘urban
improvement’ programs.
